Personalization: Not Generic
Happy Father’s Day to all of the daddies, step-daddies and bonus dads that make a difference in all of our lives. ❤️
I met a lady this past weekend at an event for @parfumsdemarly courtesy of @sundreamsproductions. She wanted an engraving, but she didn’t want a generic message on her bottle for Father’s Day. She just couldn’t think of anything that was as spectacular as she envisioned.
In the end, she chose the word #girldad to give the bottle she was going to gift some distinction.
It was simple, but it worked.
And, dads deserve distinction. They deserve fantastical phrases, puns and inside jokes that only they ‘get.’ But, sometimes, it’s not so simple to describe what they do for us in a singular, spectacular phrase.
I grew up knowing that my dad thought I could do anything. He thought I could become our family’s first, college graduate. So I went as high as I could go in arts in school. He thought I could run…Now that took some time (😅). But, later, I learned to run as an adult. He thought I could become independent, so he taught me what he knew…he taught me how to drive. I remember once, he thought I could head my own business. Now, I have a little something of one developing.
I wish I could share with him the part he played in it all.
And I still think that even though the message is somewhat generic, it fantastically describes what I truly believe…
I got the best dad in the world. ❤️
