Live and Learn: Designing SVGs

I’m experiencing growing pains over here.

Ever since I started trying to learn my cutting machines, I’ve been looking for small projects I can get done in my spare time to learn more. That rabbit hole only goes deeper…Now, when I’m lettering, I wonder if it would look good on something…trying to shift my mind from lettering anything old’ thing to lettering with the end in mind. Annndd…when I’m out, I look for things to put lettering on. In Cricut-speak, it means I’m looking for a blank.
My most recent excuse is my son’s soon-to-be bride.

I asked him where they were going for their honeymoon. At the time, they hadn’t decided, but it would be warm. Also, in the same conversation, I learned she likes makeup. So, I’m starting with a cosmetic bag. But, my master plan is to collect items to put together a basket for her that she can take with her some place warm. I can customize some of the items with my own SVGs to see how they work. That gives me some practice and will hopefully give her some useful items with some special touches!

This design lost some of the pretty, little details. It’s possible that that’s because I printed it in a small size to fit on this bag. But, if I find a blank big enough, I may try to weed the whole piece.

Still, I’m really happy with how this turned out!
