Feed the Monster

I’M SPOILED.

There, I said it. I’ve been able to try multiple forms of lettering for long stretches of time over the space of six months and I can’t go back.
Even my @20MinutesofCray challenge allowed me to recall how much I still love calligraphy…and the folks at Crayligraphy were so cool to send me a gift for hosting!

See? Spoiled.

But it’s for a good cause…
Life will try to suck all the creativity out of you and fill up to the brim every nanosecond of time you have until you look up and find you’ve ditched all your goals just trying to keep up.
To that I say, “Nope.”

When I’m not lesson planning, I’m sketching and spending time shopping for books like Ivan Castro’s soon-to-be-released Lettering to the Max and The Complete Book of Chalk Lettering by Valerie McKeehan…and looking for mockups for the upcoming season like this Hygge Scene Creator for my phone. Yummy! I’m also practicing in my sketchbook and on now on my chalkboards.

Gotta keep feeding the monster.
