Some Plain Ol’ Handlettering

If doing too much was a person….

How was your week? Mine was as busy as ever! I just completed a day that included making owl puppets with kindergarteners and elementary students, monoprinting with middle schoolers and a 30+ page newsletter for the entire school…not to mention, I am recovering from a kickball game earlier this week with some fifth graders in which, I caught three outs, ran home twice, sliding into home once, beating a pursuing, growing fifth grade boy. Our school coach actually excitedly exclaimed, “That was impressive!” I was MVP! Then, I pretty much limped home and licked my wounds the rest of the week. 🤷🏾‍♀️

I’m beat!

Teacher Tired is like no other tired I’ve ever been. It’s the kind of tired that makes most teachers go to bed at kiddie time…Unless you’re a hardheaded nocturnal creative that needs to get her creative time in or you’ll go cray cray. 😬 In that case, you just exist on coffee, period.

So, I practiced calligraphy over the week, of course.

I also trialed some new inkwells from Creative Ink Holders.

We’ll talk about those later.

I even got to practice some engraving on some agate this past week with some new burns I got from Ink Me This.

I have some engraving events coming up and I want to be sure my hands are warm. We’ll talk about these new burs later too.

But, other than that, I kicked back and recharged some batteries with some plain ol’, regular, schmegular lettering.

Gotta keep some energy on tuck. 👍🏾
