Pursuing Personal Projects II
Well, that was unexpected.
You ever had a personal project take on a life of its own? That happens to me nearly every time, actually. I never know where something will end up. I’m usually just playing around. But I love how just the act of creativity can ignite so many “what ifs?”
While I was waiting to hear back about my assignment, I vectored this alphabet. Then, since I still had some time on my hands, I was wondering what all I could do with it.
As an alphabet cloud, it didn’t make any sense to me to have it as a sticker. But, what if I made up some words worth it? I wondered what it’d look like.
Look at what I got!
I fired up Cricut Design Space, uploaded my design, and hid the letters I didn’t need to assemble this. In the end, I wound up using the Offset feature to get the extra space around the letters. Then, I flattened it to Print Then Cut.
Since I was learning through play, I decided to try that phrase next. I still had an older version of the alphabet on my iPad. So, I used Procreate to design the phrase, once again, hiding the letters I didn’t need, duplicating the ones I needed multiple times, and resizing as needed. But, this time I added some embellishments. Take a look.
I had to admit, I didn’t hate it. It was so cute, it almost made me want another kid. 🥰
Almost.
I figured this could be a print…Or, if it was a vinyl project, maybe a transfer for a nursery wall for a mom-to-be slash weekend-warrior type.
Either way, the phrase felt like something I’d want my students to be doing wherever they are this summer.
Not that I miss them already or anything. 😬
P.S. If you’re a crafty mom-to-be or know one, the alpha cloud download to create this phrase is currently in my shop. Recreate this design, remix this design or try a phrase of your own. Just don’t sell it. 😉
P.P.S. If you’re not a crafty mom-to-be…that’s okay too. You can get this as a framed poster or print (black and pencil gray available).
